Hello
I started keeping fish by accident. I know this may sound strange but it’s the way I got hooked on the fishkeeping hobby.
This is how it went.
The Platy fish in my son’s community aquarium decided to increase the population of the tank. He ended up with so many Platy babies that he had to start finding homes for some of the new arrivals.
Every time I visited my son the Platy fry had grown in size and their colours had become brighter. I fell in love with the tiny little Platys and agreed to have four of them when they were big enough to move home.
Despite having had a variety of pets when my children were small I’d never kept fish. So my son gave me some helpful advice about setting up an aquarium.
But I wanted to know more.
While researching information about the best way to take care of my Platys I realised that keeping fish happy and healthy doesn’t need to be complicated. And you don’t have to keep ‘exotic’ fish in your aquarium for the tank to be filled with life and colour.
In fact there are lots of fish, shrimp, and snails in the fishkeeping hobby that you don’t need to be an expert to keep. Which is good news. Particularly, if like me, you prefer to keep things easy to manage but enjoyable at the same time.
I’ve expanded my aquariums since getting my Platys and my fishkeeping experience has grown. But I still keep things as easy and enjoyable as possible
I’ve filled this website with easy care aquarium options that I hope will help you with your own fishkeeping experience.
Don’t be surprised if you get hooked on this amazing hobby too.
Good luck with your easy care aquariums.
